Everything you need to know about booking, test guidelines, passport compliance,
and score deliverables under Pearson policies.
How long does it take to get PTE results?
Typically, PTE results are delivered incredibly quickly—often within 48 hours, and frequently in just 24 hours. You will receive an email notification once your digital scorecard is available inside your Pearson account.
Is the PTE Academic exam accepted for visas in Australia and the UK?
Yes, PTE Academic is 100% accepted by the Australian Department of Home Affairs (DHA) for all visa subclasses, and by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) for all student, work, and spouse visa categories.
How many times can I retake the PTE test?
There is no official limit on the number of times you can sit for the PTE test. However, you can only book one test at a time, and you must wait to receive your previous score report before scheduling a new booking.
What is the difference between PTE Academic and PTE Core?
PTE Academic is used primarily for university admissions globally and visas in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. PTE Core is a newer general English test recognized specifically by Canada's IRCC for Express Entry, Provincial Nominees, and Citizenship.
Can I reschedule or cancel my PTE booking?
Yes. You can reschedule or cancel your test through your myPTE dashboard. To get a full refund, you must cancel or reschedule at least 14 full days before your scheduled test date. Partial refunds are available if done 7–13 days in advance.
What items should I bring to the PTE test center?
You must bring your original, valid, non-expired international passport. Certified copies, driver's licenses, or student IDs are strictly not accepted. Pearson rules are strict, and failure to provide an original passport will forfeit your booking fee.
